Quick question on TO requests

Hi guys,

I requested the Dell 2405FPW be added to the TO page last week, as I'm keen to get one at present. I've been rambling in the Hardware forum about this but basically it seems I missed a Scan TO offer a week and a half ago for the monitor.

I mailed about it last Tuesday to see if anyone could possibly repeat the same offer for me (I thought not!) of alternatively whether the monitor would likely be put back on TO in the near future.

I'd asked queries@scan initially, but was advised that if I mailed themanwhocan I'd get a mail back in a couple of days to let me know if the offer could be repeated. I sent this mail last Tuesday too. I've mailed since and asked again about the offer but no response as yet?

Just to be clear, I'm not necessarily expecting it to go back up immediately as I'm sure you get tons of requests, but just wondered if you could give me a bit of a steer on when or even if ()it would likely reappear? Am I wasting my time holding my breath for a repeat of that great offer here?

At the moment there is a tight stock issue on this monitor, so I doubt it will appear immediately.

The team will contact you when it's likely to appear - but obviously they can't just put an offer on for one person... so they're probably waiting for sufficient interest first.

Thanks for the information David. I thought the delay might mean it was less likely to come off (I've ordered a new PC that should turn up at the back end of this week so I was keen to know if I could source a monitor in time).

Sounds like its worth me just ordering my G5 mouse for now then and waiting until your inventory is topped up

No problem. These monitors are apparently getting harder to get hold of now

Dell have changed their policy on resellers I think, they are trying to get all their tft sales done through them not a 3rd party

If Dell would drop their prices to be competitive with the likes of Scan I wouldn't have a problem buying from them, but until they do Scan will get my order when I get one.

The issue is that you won't have long to do that, the supplies will be drying up fast of these. Soon your only option will be dell's price

Perish the thought. To be honest they'd be relatively competetive if they only did the same coupon offers in the UK that they do in the US. But no chance it seems!

Hence I'm sticking with Scan
