    Thinking of this lot

OK guys (and gals), finally looking to upgrade after putting things on hold for the past 12 months or so. I've got £1K sitting in my pocket burning a hole so would like everyones comments, good or bad, about the proposed purchases.

If you know of any issues concening one or more of the items I'd love to know before placing an order.

Main uses are video editing, web design, file and web serving to other house PC's.
Only an occasional gamer, but when I do I want a good experience.
Oh, and its got to be quiet as possible as I have to work with it all day.

LN11501 Gigabyte 3DAurora GZ-FSCA1-ANS(ANB) Black Aluminum Tower Case - Hi End

    LN11084 580W Tagan 2Force T580-U22 SLi U-Quiet 21db Also support 12v EPS/SATA/XEON 3 Years Warranty ATX/BTX

    LN12107 Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe 939 NF4 Dual x16 SLi DDR400 SATAII Raid 2xGbE Lan 8Ch Audio

    LN13003 AMD Opteron 64 UP 170 (2.0Ghz) Dual Core S939 2Mb OEM

    LN12746 256Mb ScanFX PCI-E 6800GS SLi Extreme Edition GDDR3 Tv Out DVI/VGA HDTV

Undecided about the Opty cooler but open to suggestions.

    Thanks for looking and commenting

I'd go with a Zalman CNPS9500LED, its really effective, silent at just under full power and very easy to install.
    AMD 3700+ San Diego @ 2.8GHz | Zalman CNPS 9500LED + Arctic Cooling MX-1 | Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe + Zalman Northbridge | 1024MB DDR RAM (2 x 512MB Corsair XMS Pro TwinX) | Leadtek nVidia 6600GT 128MB | Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music | 2x80GB Hitachi Deskstar SATA-II (RAID 0) | Gigabyte 3D Aurora Case | Hiper Type-R 580W Modular | Enermax Ultimate Fan Controller| Microsoft Nautral 4000 | Logitech G5 + fUnc 1030| Ideazon Fang | SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 Surround Headset | Samsung SM913N 19" TFT | Compro DVB-T200

Nice setup, but go for these-

-Enermax Liberty 500W (its enough!) or Tagan 530W! You dont really need all that wattage.

-Quietness? A p180 or a slimilar style case is in order. The gigabyte has quiet fans, but the grill on the side and thin aluminum lets noise out easily.

-Cooler- Zalman 9500 or Scythe Ninja with a 120mm fan.

-Graphic card - nice choice Cooler might be loud tho.

I found a nice linky here to a new product we will be stocking very soon, T'is ment to be JUST ABOUT silent

    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=91

That should solve the problem with a loud VGA cooler I cant give a date at the moment as the purchasing team are not in Saturday but will look in ot this one for you.

From what my system build team have told me the Scythe Ninja + a 120mm fan is an amazing cooler

Case wise this is ALWAYS personal pref IMO, I LOVE! the Akasa case as its quite a wide case for real nice cooling and i love the look of it

The Gigabyte Case is about as near silent as your gonna get, the fans are very quiet and the cooling the dual 120mm rear fans give is awesome.
    AMD 3700+ San Diego @ 2.8GHz | Zalman CNPS 9500LED + Arctic Cooling MX-1 | Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe + Zalman Northbridge | 1024MB DDR RAM (2 x 512MB Corsair XMS Pro TwinX) | Leadtek nVidia 6600GT 128MB | Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music | 2x80GB Hitachi Deskstar SATA-II (RAID 0) | Gigabyte 3D Aurora Case | Hiper Type-R 580W Modular | Enermax Ultimate Fan Controller| Microsoft Nautral 4000 | Logitech G5 + fUnc 1030| Ideazon Fang | SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 Surround Headset | Samsung SM913N 19" TFT | Compro DVB-T200

Noni, 500W or 580W, the price difference is negligable but the extra power may come in handy later on.

RavenNight, the Gigabyte case is probably the one I'll go for. Even if its just to hide those ugly CDRW and DVD devices.

Ooohh, Scythe Ninja looks a beast of a cooler. Low RPM 120mm fan pushing to the back should keep it all nice and cool.

And probably an AC Accelero at some point later on for the VGA.

Now where did I put the credit card ?

I have the aurora in silver, it very nice I have the 480 Tagan modular
Also 2GB Ballistix and an opty 170

For the Opty I have an Arctic Freezer 64 Pro it does the job fantastically with the case and blows the hot airstraghit towards the 2 x 120mm fans and right out the case, an amazing cooler for the price

The case is extremely quiet, more so that the Antec Sonata II I upgraded from.

I have the Scan GTX that has the double slot cooler so the system on the whole is very very quiet
    Anyone seen my opteron?

Might want to consider the Abit AN8 32X as an alternative to the Asus.
It's been getting very good user feedback incl. a few that have defected from the Asus.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,
