Unfortunatly not, this is done by manufacturers before they get shipped.

Does that mean that they've all been fired up and tested so no monitors that you sell will have any dead pixels? Or is there the usual risk that they might?

I dont know the ins and outs of what manufacturers do, but we and every other company do get TFTs which do have dead pixels, but that doesnt occur to often
