WD media center HD vs regular ext HDD

    Hi guys,

I'm interested in getting an ext firewire HDD (not USB2 or e-SATA for reasons I CBA to talk about) especially because it's on Today Only.

But I'm trying to decide whether to get this or just one of the 250GB IDEs and a firewire HD caddy. What does the 'media center' aspect of the WD one do?

That allows the drive to basically read certain digital media formats using the 8-in-1 reader from cameras etc and move the files from the card to the drive.
