    Pioneer DVR111d broken?

    Hi

I purchased a Pioneer DVD111dbk from Scan on 3/3/06. Today it has stopped burning disks, and Nero states that CDs can only be burnt at a maximum of 10x(was previously 40x). However it can't actually burn them at this speed, it just crashes.

Sounds like I need to RMA the drive? It was working perfectly until today, don't know what has happened to it all of a sudden.

    Ben.

Strange question, but have you installed any games recently ?
If so - which ones ?

No I haven't. And I have just done a clean install of Windows to see if it cured the problem but no luck. Why you ask?

There is a nasty copy protection going around off some recent games that screws up the writing of disks.
Uses a rootkit that does unwanted things.

Ah right, yes heard about that.

No, didn't install anything, just seems to have stopped working.
