Dlink 504-T problem
Hi (soz dlink 504-T)
ordered and received this item last week and have already had a few problems; when initially setup the port forwards it kept restarting which I thought was odd but put it down to BT max speeding my line (have just moved isp's and to b/band max) and causing conflicts.
Now though after coming back to my pc after a while I find that it's disconnected from net - sometimes the only way to connect again is to disconnect - reconnect power or do a restart.
Have done a browse for other 504-t users with same problem on the net and have found a few forums with people complaining about the same problem - nobody has found a solution and many have returned theirs.
Link to forum with people talking of same problem : http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...fm/365838.html
Just wanted to get an opinion as to what I should do - it's already starting to annoy me but worried that if return it you may test for a while and not see problem occur.
Thanks

Only had to try and configure one D-Link router... some guy was trying to get on his ADSL connection with it..
Im not newbie when it comes to networking and adsl modem configuring but i couldnt get this one working for love of money..
I then tried a conexant branded 4 port jobby.. worked first time...

When it comes down to it. D-Link suck.. to put it simply. I had constant disconnections with mine, and a vast amount of other people have the same problems. Add that to the recent.. basically.. a DDOS attack on some time servers (intentional or not thats bad business). Its a surprise they are still in business.

Could someone from Scan please add their opinion on the best action for me to take please.
Cheers and thanks for all replies received so far.

Best thing to do is report it to the technical/returns dept using the weblink below ;

Judging from the posts you have linked too and the information you have provided is this only occuring when certain P2P applications are running?
If this is the case - it could be the client is set to use too many concurrent connections and this is 1 of the side-effects in that the connection just seems to "hang and pause".
Reducing the total number of outgoing connections could remedy this.

Also, try enabling / disabling uPNP if possible. It can be a cause of similar problems in some configs.
