turn down the multiplier, problem solved, short of getting some old BH5 or some such you arent really gonna find memory thats any good at 300mhz +

He may mean the memory divider, also old school or new school BH-5 will never see you to a 300 fsb, not unless you're an overclocking god and using 256mb sticks. About the only memory that regularly acheived 300+ fsb were TCCD chipped modules and as herulach says the timings were so lax at that speed that it was almost pointless.

So i'd stick with what he has and just use a different memory divider

my settting are 9x 300htt and menory to 200mhz i know it's the menory coz my mate got his to 2.9 using PHY menory but i buy my stuff from Scan and they/you only do Corsair. i was thinking of getting

    1: 1GB (2X512MB) Corsair TwinX Pro LED, DDR PC3500LL LN13567

    2: 2GB (2X1GB) Corsair TwinX Pro LED, DDR PC4400 (550) LN13565

i could drop the menory speed but wouldn't i lose performance???????

Ok well you have obviously discovered the memory divider then, but I still don't think the ram is holding you back. That ram should be able to run at least a 220fsb.

    1. What makes you think that your cpu can go more than 2.7g.
    2. Have tried upping the either or both the ram & cpu voltage?
    3. What are your memory timmings?
    4. I seem to remember that your board didn't really like high HTT but I could be wrong.
    5. Drop the ram divider right down & up the HTT to find the limit of the cpu/board then go from there.

this is what i dont get why does 256 mb sticks make a diff?
and also the lowest divider i can drop to on my mobo is 200 thats the asus so i dont know if that actually means 166, and surley putting this that low you would cancel out the cpu speed boost?

single-sided DIMMs so less strain on the memory controller
