if you buy windows either SP2 or MCE from Scan they are OEM - so to comply with the software agreement you have to buy either:

"(a) a fully assembled computer system or (b) a nonperipheral computer hardware component."

they say that a non peripheral computer harware component means a component that will be an integral part of the fully assembled computer system on which the individual software license will be installed - so perhaps you could by a cheap mouse etc....not sure if a IDE/SATA cable etc would be adequate - im sure the Scan guys will fill you in

    320Gb Seagate ST3320620AS Barracuda 7200.10, SATA2, 7200 rpm, 16MB Cache, , NCQ

so i have 2 x 200gb for storage and 1 x 320 for games and the os (and this 1 is sata 2)

yeh that should be fine - like i said best to double check with Scan but i cant see any probs with that at all - as long as its being used on the machine where XP/MCE will be installed

An OEM OS would have to be purchased with a non-peripheral piece of hardware, something such as a 10/100 network card would qualify you for the OEM licence.
