Edimax EW-7128G 54Mbps Wireless PCI Card - how to improve reception?

Hi I just got one of these:

Edimax EW-7128G 54Mbps Wireless PCI Card

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=152539

...and i'm right on the edge of the wifi range for my access point - the connection is _almost_ fine but drops out periodically. Would I be able to improve things considerably with a higher gain antenna for it? And, if so, which one do you sell that's a: compatible with this card and b: most likely to improve things considerably?

Thanks in advance for your help - it's a bit of trial and error this wifi stuff

What you could use is 1 of the replacement antenna's that we stock to increase the signal.

rule of the thumb - higher the dBi gain - the better is should be

    LN10304
    Edimax 5dBi Indoor Omni antenna (using RP-SMA 1m Cable) £12.99 £15.26

    LN11280
    Edimax 6dBi Indoor Patch-directional antenna w/RP-SMA jumper and 1M cable £18.99 £22.31

Both are compatible with the cards and should in theory improve reception.

    Best Regards,

What sort of dbi am I getting now (out of interest)?

I'd be quite happy to pay for the best antenna possible - i'd rather buy once than many if you see what i mean Can outdoor antennas be used indoors too ?

    What about:

    US Robotics 9DBI Patch Antenna

    or even

Edimax 14dBi outdoor directional antenna w/N plug jumper cable

    ?

Will these both connect to a SMA equipped card?

    Thanks for you help Lee

They look like they would be fine as they should have the same connection.
