Replacing HSF on XFX 7900GT 520M

    Guys,

Want some advice please on replacing the noisy fan on my XFX 7900GT 520M please.

I have tentatively put a Zalman V900 into a basket on your site but have not bit the bullet yet. I worried about the implications regarding warranty - especially given the problems peeple seem to be having with the 7900GT chips in general.

I will not be overclocking this board - I just want it a bit less noisy as its the loudest thing in my case.

    Cheers!

Same I have the same 7900gt. I was having problems but a few tweaks to games have solved them. As far as i know only evga allow you to keep your warrenty changing a fan but who will know?

The Warranty would be invalidated if any after market cooling solution is applied to the cards.

    Best Regards,

There is at least someone who will still honour their warranty provided you re-fit the original HSF before RMAing it, and don't bugger the card up in the process.

I can't remember exactly who it is though - perhaps eVGA. I'd recommend you steer clear of XFX. The problems are no worse than other manufacturers, but their customer support is. eVGA seems to be best ATM.

    Hi

Evga do allow you to change the heatsink and fan for a non standard one without invalidating the warranty plus they have a lifetime warranty and a step up program:-)

    Regards
