    Free carriage slower?

Just wandering if the hexus/scan free carriage is slower than the paid service? Was expecting the delivery today but it never came. Actually got up early (a mission in itself! lol) and travelled 16 miles to a comp shop to get some thermal compound! Knowing that tomorrow is sunday and everywhere will be closed

It's definitely not slower than their usual delivery service, mine have always come next day, by 11am if everything's been in stock. It's the exact same service, just with no charge.
If you're referring to the "today" as Saturday though...Delivery companies don't usually deliver on Saturdays, unless you pay a (usually) £25.00 surcharge, which wouldn't, of course be covered by a Free shipping.

Could've got your thermal compound from Scan too

hey dude, scan use Citylink couriers, which dont deliver on Saturdays, unless specified when ordering. You're Hexus Free Carriage comes under standard next day, which doesn't operate on saturdays hope that clears it up.

    ^ Ahhh I understand!

I thought it was a bit strange as my last order, was the fastest ive ever got anything online! Ordered like 3pm, it was here next morning 12! lol Madness

Wish I'd requested Sat delivery now! guess ill have to wait till monday

I forgot to add thermal paste, until the order was dispatched! So didnt wanna order just a thermal paste, for either free del as it doesnt qualify, nor did I wanna pay £7 on a £5 paste! lol

    Cheers

if that happens again and you realise something is missing from your order before it is dispatched, give them a quick phone and get them to add it. they are vey good like that.

not had to do it myself (usually realise i forgot something once the package arrives) but i've read loads of posts of people doing that.

Saturday delivery is charged at full Saturday rate, otherwise, it's next-working day service (next working day from point of despatch... when you'll recieve your confirmation email and SMS).

The Hexus carriage offer only covers standard next-working day service, and is NOT held back for any reason (except workload or stock issues ... which can hit any order )

When you get the notification of dispatch you should get a tracking number which you can track your order with on the city link website, that will let you know how far your order has progressed when it has been dispatched.
