Nuff said people. Everyone has a point of view, lets respect that, even if you dont agree with it..

I think this better stop here. Bottom line, if you happy to pay go with Scan, otherwise go elsewhere. You get what you pay, perfect service.

You don't grasp some simple economics here - yes the free postage is a promotional tool - but even with the trip level set at 20 pounds then no profits bonanza involved. OP was WRONG pure and simple - A retailer can choose whether to do cheaper delivery for low weight/value orders - that they choose not to means customer chooses not to purchase. But to come here and state that its a rip-off just shows they lack a comprehension of the real world economics (no such thing as a free lunch?).Originally Posted by Bourne
But calling th OP an idiot was out of order - if making a mistake was idiotic then I'd have an IQ measured with my fingers!
people say, oh your paying for the service, whats service, your buying from them, you are ment to get good service, that's not something you should have to pay for is it now?
if a shop wants your custom, they are polite and help you out as much as possable, now should you have to pay for that, i think not, it seems expensive because of the item costing so little, if the item was more expensive, postage would seem to you more realistic,
If receiving a fully insured, fully tracked, well packaged, timely delivery isnt good service I dont know what is and of course your paying for a good delivery service from the courier and Scan.
Lets get RM involved and see how many complaints we receive then when your package gets lost and takes weeks to recover.

ye, been fully tracked , well packed ect is well worth the extra few quid IMO as if it was broke when arived due to rubbish packageing i would of then wished i could of had the option of paying a little extra for better packageing
Exactly.... It's a no brainer !

TBH, your shipping seems fair, well better than fair, under 20 quid you pay, but then its well packed ect, and over 20 quid you get free shipping, bargin as not all sites give free shipping, some do but not all.
RM totally sucks, whats the point in there tracking service when you can only track it once its arrived![]()

I did think delivery on scan was a bit pricey... but look at what the products weight...
eBuyer use the Initial City link... but you have to wait AT least 5 days after order has been recieved before the goods are dispatched...
with Scan they even send an sms to tell you if its delayed etc...
and as for the £20 minimum free postage.. well duh! should be £50 imo
If you go look at the other big computer retailers, dabs, ebuyer, etc., they all use a courier service instead of the royal mail. I don't see how scan are abusing the customer by adding a minimum order price for free delivery when they don't need to offer free delivery in the first place.
If you want a single, cheap item like this, you don't buy it from one of these sites unless you are willing to pay the premium for a courier service, this kind of site is for large volume orders (or at least very expensive orders).
And all the people whose cheap deliverymeans the item isn't even looked at as missing for 3 weeks by RM, will sit happily waiting for the postie to sort it out (as if !!) - that failure to appreciate the whole cheap delivery idea - will also mean an expectation of instant recompense OR ELSE!Originally Posted by ChrisP
This might be alien to a lot of you, but for one cable, just move away from the PC and go to town. It's even sunny today.
I'll happily pay £7 for shipping, insurance and guarenteed next day. Not to mention scans parcels are extremely well wrapped.
