    ASUS P5WD2-E Premium & Foxconn 975X7AA support conroe?

    Hi,

    You say on your website that these two boards support conroe. Asus's website doesnt support this and foxconn say its the 975X7AB that you need for conroe. ?

    Have you tested these boards at all with a core 2 duo chip ?

    Also we know the intel Intel D975XBXLKR does support conroe but you dont mention it

    If you check the P5WD2-E technical notes at the following link - this states the following ;

    "Support Intel next generation 65nm CPU
    Compatible with Intel® 05B/ 05A and 04B/04A processors"

    http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?m...3&l2=11&l3=248

    As for the 975X7AA - this doesn't as you've stated as they released the 975X7AB varient for conroe support and as such I'll get this ammended on the website accordingly.

    05B/05A processors are the 9 series Intel pentium D's which are 65nm and the 65nm 6 series cedar mill processors .

    04B/04A processors are the 90nm prescotts and the 90nm 8 series pentium D's.

    IIRC that motherboard doesn't support conroe.

    151 quid...lets hope that for that money DFI have sorted out their quality control issues and 12 week RMA turnaround.

    If its revision 1.03G which should have been available since the 5th of July but sometimes stores like to sell their current stuff before they put the newer stuff.

    I was just pointing it out to scan as I didnt think they supported core 2 duo, and some people on other forums were going to buy them.
    Im very happy with my Asus P5W even though the shipping bios doesn't support C2D.
