    Delivery to Northern Ireland

Would someone clarify how much delivery is to northern ireland for a mobo, cpu fan and hard disk please as emails received are not giving me clear guidance on what it is or how to claim it and to be quite frank getting cheesed off with trying to place an order?

Carriage charges are based on the weight of the order + an extra charge as the delivery is being shipped to non mainland UK.

For a mobo, H/S and HDD only the carriage charge would be £ 20.98 + Vat

    Free Carriage
The free carriage offer is only available to UK mainland post codes, however so non mainland UK customers can still take advantage of the offer we will only charge the difference between the non mainland UK carriage and the UK mainland carriage, which would work out to be £ 20.98 - £ 5.98 = £ 15.00 + Vat

Please follow the link below to apply for the Scan free carriage offer to receive the reduction in the charge, which will be applied after the order has been placed.

Alternatively you can place the order via the sales line on - 0870 755 4747 quoting your Hexus username.

Well I was quoted £10 postage originally not £21? Very confusing this so think I will look elsewhere as can't get a clear answer and can't be bothered trying anymore.

Thanks for the responses anyhow but here I go to Komplett i suppose.....

£10 is average carriage for mainland UK.

Base carriage for NI, as Chris said, is around £20.

We can't do much other than what Chris said - which would save around 7 quid on the carriage for you.

I am usure where the confusion can lie as this was also confirmed by Lee and Carl in the OLQ e-mail of the standard carriage charge.

If you have had £ 10.00 confirmed as the standard UK carriage charge incorrectly, if you still wish to place the order I will process the order with a £ 10.00 carriage charge + Vat this time for you.

    Hi

I was told that NI delivery is normally £20 but they could deliver for £10 for the first 5Kg and 2.50 thereafter (whether this was because I am a Hexus member I do not know but possible).

I appreciate your responses SCAN folk and your offer ChrisP and will get back to you ASAP.

    Thanks

(Really sucks being over here with delivery charges BTW )

Well I tried to order a Hard disk (not the heaviest item, and certainly a a lot less than 5kg!) from scan a couple of weeks ago - after a few emails back and forth to confirm the prices and the surcharge to northern ireland i got the following response from scan

Quote Originally Posted by email from scan

    So £23.82 + VAT = £27.98

Which is the price ive been quoted.. and why scan are top of the league for high shipping charges to northern Ireland. By my calculations this is a surcharge on top of the standard costs of £20.96 inc vat.

    See the current chart at

    http://www.hisdancingleg.com/ni

[where possible the other sites in the comparision have also been prices with a hard drive (althought they are not all pc component sellers so thats not always the case]

and another general thread on northern ireland shipping charges

When you log into the site with your post code the carriage charge is worked out for you and shown based on the weight of the basket contents.

The Non UK carriage costs cannot be reduced

For Hexus customers the standard UK carriage cost can be deducted from the Total carriage charge displayed so you are still taking advantage of the offer.

Free carriage is not available to non UK post codes as per the Rules.

Northern Ireland is still in the UK???
Has there been any developments so far as maybe using another service like Royal mail special delivery for Northern Ireland Orders?

I've already posted why we do not use Royal Mail many many times and this is still the case

Maybe another good reason for not using RM is the latest postal charging system fiasco?

Me thinks you guys should your story straight.

OcUK use City Link and their carriage is not as expensive.
Overclock use City Link and their carriage is not as expensive.

I can send a hard drive back to Western Digital via DHL for £25ish which is the same as it costs for you to send a hard drive to Northern Ireland. Something fishy here I think!

Doesnt really effect parcels that much, more larger envelopes and A4 size padded envelopes. They would have to use RMSD anyway - in fact the most Special Delivery can be (upto 10kg) is £18.50 (last time I checked).

We cannot make the situation any clearer, and the web site is also very clear on relevant carriage charges to non mainland UK and these charges have always been the same.

This is not a " Story " and the " Facts " have always been the same and stated as such on this forum along with valid reasons why

Non mainland UK carriage charges cannot be reduced with our present courier.
