    Ideal temp for Intel 6300?

ust finished setting my PC up and i started sorting out the Q-control & fan speeds when i realised i dont know the max temperature i should set it for. Im running the Intel D2 6300 on a Asus ASB-P5B mobo.

I have 2 80mm fans kicking out the back 1 80mm on the side blowing in and a soon-to-be fitted 120mm at the front which will be blowing in(#3 80mm will then changed around to blow out) This is on top of a Akasa CPU fan.

iv been trying to find a good medium between coolness & quiteness yet i cant seem to get anywhere near it. iv set up the Q-fan and set it to optimum, this turns the rear fans off and lets the CPU fan go down to 788rpm. I then ran prime 95 to make sure that when the PC got hot the fans would all kick in. Only they didnt, and i had to shut prime95 off as the CPU krept up to 60, still with the rear fans off and the CPU running like the clappers.

Even with 'performance mode' enabled on the rear fans stay they stay off, allowing the CPU to hit 60oC.

Im fearfull of running anything on it incase i go and damage something only 2 days after buying it all.

    cheers guys.

it depends how you overclock it.

Normal temp for 6300 1866 GH is 42c.

i thought these were supposed to run cooler than the amd chips?...im running a celery temp while waiting for a conroe to arrive, and the board itself runs really hot at stock, but 40c idle for a 6600?...is that with the stock cooler?

Mine isnt o/c and all the temps posted above are with the system running idle/idle with 1 or 2 programs(MSN & ASUS PC probe) running.

Think the best bet is for me to leave it to avoid any dammage and speak to scan in the morning. A number of people have suggested the fact that the temp senors are out, and the fact that my voltage readings are all also out aswell, eg 10.5v instead of the 12, 5v ones all low 4s etc.

thanks for the advice anyway guys.
