I'd be interested too. How do these compare to the Core 2 Duos though?
unchanged from current Athlons just lower voltage requirement..Quote:

My guess is they'd be better in SFF systems ... i'll probably get one when I get my AM2 box :)
For sure, I'm looking to put one in my HTPC........Scan, can you comment on my original question please ?
According to Purchasing we should be getting all the range in, it's just a case of stock becoming available.
What they are doing at the moment is creating the stock codes and webinfo once we get a confirmed order with our suppliers.
Best Regards,
Hi Lee, any update on these puppies ?
Thanks
nope none yet.
At the moment with the HUGE price drops AMD did the demand for their processors has risen to astronomical proportions. As such, we are just awaiting more information from the suppliers and as they have very very low stocks of these they are as usual taking a little longer than normal to fliter through the retail supply channel.
Anyway - my cold beers awaits :)
I hope that explains the situation at the present time.
Gutted :(
Ordered myself an X2 4200+ Energy Efficient OEM CPU (code prefix on chip should be ADOxxxxx) from Scan (£140). Delivery arrived today and what turns up - a non-Energy Efficient *retail* X2 4200+ (£124) ! What's even more disturbing is the Scan sticky label on the retail box says it *is* an Energy Efficient chip......yet the chip they sent me is an 'ADAxxx' coded one, which are bog-standard :(
Worryingly, Scan's website now show no Energy Efficient AM2s at all ! Looks like I'll be getting a refund and buying from Komplett instead on this occasion.
see my thread here:

CityLink are collecting the processor from work on Monday, my retail EE one is in the port from Komplett :)
Thanks Funkstar....looks like Scan have mistakenly marked a load of normal X2 4200+s as the Energy Efficient variety. I'll contact them at 9am and get this returned/refunded and I'll order one from Komplett instead.Quote:

I've spoken to returns now and asked for a full refund, which they were fine with. Just waiting for the email now with all the info in........never done a return before.
