    My brand new 3xs system

Finally took delivery of my new 3xs quad sli Gaming System this morning (been waiting for it since 19th of aug) and since i got home from work at around 5:30 i have been trying to play a game on it, and yet with no joy! i have tried most of the games i have here at home as well as the Tomb raider one i got bundled with some part of the system. All i get is crash after crash after lockup
What the heck do scan use to test these systems??? solitare? at the moment im sat here next to a 3 grand word processor as thats all its good for atm
    Not a happy bunny
Oh and to find .jpegs on my desktop of 15k scores on 3dmark is laughable, i couldnt get 3dmark 05 to run at all without crashing and 3dmark 06 i got a score comparable with my old 2.5ghz p4 system that only had a gig of ram and a 6800gt Gfx card!!

You do know that the quad SLI drivers are still buggy at the least... you should expect a certain amount of instability. But the fact that Scan managed to get a 3dmark of your system means that it worked for them, so something that you have done (or haven't) is causing that problem. Also if you could post your exact specs then perhaps we can all chip in to help you solve the problem .

All i have done is taken out the packing from inside the case plugged everything in!. The first thing i tried was running 3dmark to compare it with my old system and it wouldnt load (just a black screen after clicking icon) then i tried various games (oblivion, HL2 Tomb Raider) and none of them will load up! the only thing i got running was 3dmark 06 and it was as choppy as hell.
Cant see that i have done anything wrong

okay, you need to download the latest forceware drivers and directx:
    http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_91.47_uk.html
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
hope this helps, it could just be that since it left the factory they loaded some default install or soemthing.
Its most likely a direct x issue, though

    If those don't help then:
Go to troubleshoot in the display settings window and make sure that the tab is fully on the right.

try the dxdiag and make sure evreything is on, check the nvidia control panel for SLI settings to make sure it is properly activated. Also have you tried single card mode?

remember the system was shipped to you, its highly likely that your problems are indeed due to the point beteween Scan and you....rather that it having a problem since it was just compenents in boxes
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net

I am now as confused as hell

I did what you suggested and removed the bottom card and just ran on one, worked perfectly. Then took what was the bottom card and tried that on its own to see if it was indeed broke, it worked perfectly once again. So I thought "Oh bugger its the motherboard slot" so i put what was the top one when it was delivered into the bottom slot and linked them back up and now they both work great linked up together with everything enabled giving me a 15185 score on 3dmark 05 instead of naff all the other day.

So thanks for your help on the phone earlyer even though I might not have sounded like I was paying attention as I was driving
Also I apologise for my first post, it was a bad end to a bad day
Just glad its all working i guess somthing came loose on its way here

hi jackdaniels: can you overclock your computer-even a little? i'm curious to know whether the MB is unlocked or locked (as it is with most OEM systems)

Scan would never lock a system like the 3XS down - they are enthusiasts like us
