    Just checked and although it is much improved there is still a noticable noise close to the case.
    I suspect that the only way to fix it is to use insulated mountings

    I'v been rather busy recently so not had much chance to play about with this... but I managed to turn on the slient mode using the hUtil and it seems to be a little bit quieter.

    A little bit quieter No No No, I want silence

    My other drives have been Seagate Barracuda IV and V drives and they are some of the quietest around.

    Even the Seagate 7200.7 IDE is quieter than the 7200.7 SATA and P80

    I put mine on 'middle' less crackling when seeking, noticable difference but it was THAT loud to start with really!
