cheeky bump before closing time
go for the 15", doubt you will get any cooling advantage from the 17" and it will just take up more room - the main thing is improving airflow beneath the laptop and the 15 will do that fine and the fans will be under the body...
Cheers redsky, much appreciated
Anyone from scan know for definate though?
Dave
not problem dave87
Scan guys could just drop a 15.4" on both and see how they sit - wouldn't be easy to measure cooling though...
another tip for you is to clean out the fans. If you can (are are comfortable doing so) undo the case screws (look for guide online) and get a vaccuum cleaner, take the floorcleaning head off so its just the pipe and tie a bit of cloth stretched over the end. Use that to suck up any dust thats in the case, especially around the fans and heat sinks. If you don't want to do that, just hold the vaccuum+cloth against the ventilation ports for a couple of mins. You may well be surprised how much crud comes out onto the cloth. Should help the efficiency of the fans and the cooling in general.

I keep the fans relatively free flowing, and the laptops only 2months old anyhow , but the RAM itself gets no active cooling due to the design of the chassis, and as such can get rather hot with prolonged use
Would be good if the Scan guys could drop a 15.4" widescreen laptop on the coolers to check the fit though

another cheeky bump before closing time...
Morning bump - (well, I'm not going to be up when you open )
Come on guys, really need to order this
The supported dimensions of this are showing as 300 x 300mm.
If your laptop is wider than this then it would not fit I'm afraid.
Cheers Lee, think I can probably just get away with it (as thats how far apart the feet are on it..)
