    can scan get involved please.

i went direct to dell to get my faulty monitor swapped out.
it arrived late yesterday, half an hour past the 9-5 i got quoted on the phone, so i have lost a full days pay so far.
now the monitor i got is a refurb, and it doesn't work. after around an hour it will start to power cycle constantly, regardless of it being plugged into a PC, so its not my PC.

i sent one back with banding issues a Dell 2407WFP revA01 and got a A03 that is no good.

    now why am i angry,
    1, it doesn't work,
2, it arrived so late i could not ring dell to ensure i get another one Monday morning.
3, i cannot take a day off until Wednesday as that's our quiet day. so i am going to be without my £700 monitor until at least Wednesday.

Basically i do not want another refurb as i have now been bitten and inconvenienced. So can you arrange for my monitor to be swopped out for a new one or offer me a full refund as the item is less than 6 months old ?

    thanks in advance.

well i have phoned dell, totally unacceptable service. they cannot ship a new monitor by next day, so i have had to get a refurb sent out for wednesday.
on wednesday i shall be phoning up to get a new one shipped once i have a working one to keep me going. (if i get a working one this time.)

not at all happy, but i know its not scans fault.

But if Scans is the supplier (to you) they do have legal responsibilities don't they?

yeh but im not prepared to wait for scan to RMA the monitor, being as though dell offer next day business.

maybe if scan did get involved, but they have ignored this thread as i seem to have a plan now to get me a new monitor back on my desk instead of some already knackerd refurb without being stuck on 14" while i wait

You really don't want to be accepting delivery of refurbished monitors from Dell if you intend to then ring them back up to ask for a new one, even if you "need" one to tide you over... you'll have a nightmare trying to sort that one out.

well, i got a phone call today with some foreign woman trying to tell me they cant send another monitor out to arrive tomorrow as they don't have any in my post code area.
as you can imagine i went ballistic at her and demanded to speak to her supervisor.

after i had managed to explain to her supervisor i have been without a working monitor since Friday as it was delivered so late i couldn't contact support till Monday to explain the product they didnt tell me was refurbished showed up with an existing major fault. then get told they cant uphold there next business day delivery with me.
My reply to that was not good, i explained the main reason i brought the monitor was dells next business day swop out, and it is not my problem if they don't have a 2407 to send out, the least they can do is send something equivalent or better to make up for the fact i will be a full business week without a monitor that works, and yet again i do not get a phone call till after 6pm in the evening, so i cannot even contact scan to see if they have one in stock to get it sent out next day, that way i could have got a new monitor and refund on the old one to resolve the matter.

anyway, the best i could get b4 i totally lost it with this guy was a refurb sent out for Friday when i'm next here to take delivery & he would also order a new monitor that would be based on 3 working days to arrive here on a swop for the refurb basis.

so basically im expecting some guy to show up friday with 2 monitors, one of those being new & one being refurb, chance is i may get a working monitor friday,

what a total nightmare. wish i brought the eizo now

    Gonzo,

Please PM me with the actions you would like Scan to take and I will intervene as much as possible. The issue here is that you already seem to have a solution to the issue, albeit not very satisfactory, we will do whatever we can but it is hard if you have already reached an agreement with Dell.
