Hi

I am thinking of buying some corsair TWIN2X1024-6400C4/C5 off yourselves but I have been reading around and found that a lot of these are using the ProMOS chipset not the d9. Could you clarify that before I buy which ICs are being used in each module.

As, I do not want to buy ProMOS ic's I know that you can tell off the revision number but specifications do not indicate this.

Is that the memory with the scanlink code of LN15367.

No, I was on about the 2gb kits I know a lot of them are promos and would prefer microns.

http://www.corsairmemory.com/ is a good place to start, use the compatabilty drop down box thingy mabob, it will basically say what is compatable with your board

Have already looked at the corsair website clicking on each of the memory modules the pdf file does not state which ic is on the module, or which revision it is.

Just thought, that before I buy I would like to know if it is micron ic, as do not want ProMOS ic's. It looks like I might have to go down the crucial route, as they make the ic's.

If I knew which 6400 series was micron then I would buy that.

Found this list of various modules and the chips they use... not exactly what you asked for but if you decide to go with another brand least you know what to get

Seems strange that corsair would use Promos in their XMS range which as designed to be good overclockers?

Already had the list, saved it in favourites, Did a lot of googling before I posted and hours of reading, Got my original promos list off the corsair forums and then extremesystems.org. Busy looking at a site which sells memory unfortunately not any crucial, but they sell mushkin patriot ocz, team gskill to name just a few.

I want memory that I can over-clock and not run at stock speed. At least I have about a month to decide on my purchase, still debating which mobo to get as well.
