    Question Gp2x

Was just wondering if anyone has heard of the GP2X before? Its like a PSP but opensource. I was thinking it would be excellent if Scan began to sell some of these units especially the new MK2 ones I reckon it would get more people to know about the device. Pretty cheap to prices range from £110 to £130 for the unit.

Can play all the classic emulator games on it as well and do pretty much whatever a PSP can to. Official UK dealer for it atm is Gbax, but their reseller scheme looks good. Who do you present these kinda things to at Scan lol would be too good if they sold these.

I've had one since December last year and its an excellent piece of kit. The only let down is the lack of wireless, but if your into emulators, etc. its great. It does have a habit of draining batteries after a couple of hours video use, but overall its well worth looking at

Not a mainstream device, but apparently are quite good... It's not really a big seller in the UK from my understanding .. even though it certainly is a decent gadget.

Not true anymore. The latest firmware supports USB wireless network devices.

I ordered one and hopefully it will be here next week. Also the breakout box will be available from gbax.com soon so once you have that it literally turns the GP2X into a computer or even a router depending on how you set it up!

Wow never seen this before! For £110 and can play all your music and videos this looks like a good buy! But seeing as a PSP Value Pack is £110 as well from some places....

I'm tempted as Craig also has various developer resources linked on his site...

It would be good for the homebrew value.. But the DS and PSP play most homebrew and emulators as it is..

I've read a little about this device and have to say it really sounds fantastic.

I'd certainly be interested in buying one but have found it for sale at £125.
dbh/AtomicFuse - Where did you see the GP2x at £110?

Also would Scan be stocking this in the near future?
    cheers

Any ideas if Scan will stock this? If not, what is the cheapest reliable stockist at the mo?

Although I'd like to see this in stock, and I'll certainly check into it, I do have my doubts about it...
