    My Power Supply Blew

    Hi guys on the 14th of december last year i bought a 620W Enermax Liberty Modular Series SLi - ELT620AWT aPFC ATX2.2 2xPCI-E 12cm Quiet Fan from you guys. yesterday so some unknown reason it blew and im not sure what else it took with it. how long our these supplys covered by warranty?

    I have to admit im abit annoyed that there is nothin u can do if it has took your whole computer with it.

    I wont know the extent of the damage until i put a new one in a see what boots and what doesnt.

    After having a quick look on the Scan page it seems it would be best to contact Enermax directly, it comes with a 3 year warranty so you should be fine.

    thanx for your help guys. will give it a shot!

    So where is it that i get their address? Do i just use the invoice scan gave me when i bought it? And then send it all back to them. and do i have to pay for the delivery there and back? dont know how u pay for both. I thought u could only pay for one way.

    I guess i wont know if the other parts have blew until i get a new one in.

    What would generally happen is, you ship the item back to them and they cover the postage costs back to you.

    If you follow the link on the warranty section it should give you all the details that you will need to give, generally it goes on the serial number of the PSU, but try the link on the warranty section and it will give you all the details you need.

    With the other parts that may have blown, I doubt you'd see anything from Enermax.

    thanx for ur help mate. its jsut a pity that a fulat in their psu may have blew 1800 quid worth of stuff yet they cant be held liable? seems unfair if its cuase of their faulty equipment.

    The only option would be to try and claim on the house insurance, or claim on each components individual warranty, as long as you were using a surge protector you should be covered. You will have to deal with those things when the replacement PSU arrives though and hope that any items that may be affected are still under warranty.

    Well its all on scans invoice and all bought at the same time. Im just hoping that the only thing that is broke is the psu. Im not quite sure what way to claim it on the house insurance yet. I did have a surge protector but the only thing that went was the computer. Everything else on that extension lead was ok. :/

    Basically what will happen is, you get an RMA off them, post it directly to Enermax which they inturn will repair/replace and ship back to you

    1. The regualtors in the Enermax units are very good and its unlikely that anything went down with it.
    2. If its not still in warranty with the retailer, the RMA direct from Enermax is very good (and 3 years).
    3. If you have house insurance and anything got burned, then claim on that.

    hey guys well i have jsut installed my 2gb mushkin redlines on my spare comp and theya re working ok so it seems all is good except the psu (hopefully) as it is new years 2morrow i will contact them on tuesday and hopefully they send the new one soon after receiving the old one. Is there anyway i can be sure the psu is dead? Just to be on the safe side?
