    Question Reserved Or Not?

    I ordered about 6 items from scan on Friday, all of which were in stock when the order was placed. Today however, two of the products aren't in stock, and you're awaiting an ETA from the manufacturers. Could you let me know if an item is 'mine' from when I place the order, or does it need to be picked before it's reserved for me?

    Currently, the order has got up to the payment authorised stage.

    Also, what will happen to the other items in the order assuming the two products that are awaiting stock aren't reserved for me? Do they get shipped separately to the stuff not in stock, or does it all go on the same shipment?

    Generally we hold a lot of stock especially of the most popular items. Most stock in which you see on Pre-Order is either limited availablitiy from the supplier/manufacturer eg Corsair Dominator/Asus Striker etc or simply high amouts of unexpected orders.

    Generally on normal operation if something is not in stock we try and part pick the order therefor reserving the stock which you have ordered until the OOS item has arrived onsite. Unfortunately due to high levels of orders and lack of space at present it we can not reserve stock. Previous posts which I wont go to deep into will explain about an extension and development to increase the stores and picking areas even further to meet the demands and hopefully not to long away we hope to get operations back to normal actually better.

    We generally try to ship the whole order together.

    The two items mentioned are actually from two different orders. I ordered my main system, but I was yet to decide on a case, and didn't include one in the first order as I thought I was going to get one from another site. In the end, I found one I liked at scan, and made a second order with just the case included. However, the case from the second order and the PSU from the first order with everything else has since gone out of stock. Would it be possible to have the PSU transferred to the second order with the case in it?

    This will mean I'd receive the main system before the end of this week, and the PSU and case can come later. I should be able to use the PSU and case from my current system until then.

    We should be able to do this, we would have to process a refund and a new transaction for you as we cant transfer payment between invoices. Would this be ok for you?

    I can then track the invoices tomorrow and arrange this for you

    Sounds like a lot of hassle, so unless I have to wait a long while I'll probably stick with how it is for now.

    Could you let me know when this PSU might come back into stock though please:

    I've been thinking about this last night, and have decided I'd like to cancel the case and PSU and find another in stock to order if possible so I might be able to receive everything before Saturday. I've just checked my bank account online, and nothing's been taken from me yet.

    There are now 3 items not in stock (case, PSU and DVD drive), all waiting for an ETA from the manufacturer. Could I just cancel both orders and start again? I was really hoping to have a full system for the end of this week, and would still like this to be possible.

    EDIT - I might be able to drive into Scan on Wednesday to pick up whatever I need then if everything can be cancelled before then. I take it Scan's easy enough to find? I'm assuming it's just a case of asking for what you want to buy, and so long as it's in stock it's available, same as the website?

    What's the postcode for? Do I need to order stuff on the web first, then they'll just have that ready when I get there or something?

    Hmmmm - I might not be coming into Scan after all...

    It seems to case has been picked, so I guess that means there's one physically available for me, even though the website says there's none in stock? I may have everything this week after all .

    Perhaps the PSU and DVD drive will go the same way .

    EDIT - case has been dispatched. Just need the other stuff now.
