    Unless you suffer from scaling in your kettle (which I do), I personally wouldn't bother with the expense of a water filter - all you need is a jug or empty bottle (a clear wine bottle is a winner)...

    Lead pipes, only now found in some old buildings, can be tricky as the lead can disolve and cause health problems (plumbosolvency). It is resolved by a small quantity of orthophosphate being added...

    London is mainly supplied via a ring-main fed from supplies from West London (Staines area) and North London (Tottenham area). Have a look on satelite images of London and look for the reservoirs.

    Very little of the country has flouride added, more's the shame IMHO. Many people get pretty upset about the idea of it though.
