    What are Dabs, Microdirect and Tekheads like with returns?

    Hi,

    I'm looking to purchase this motherboard soon, in time for the 17th July.

    The board just went out of stock on Scan so if they don't get it back in stock within the next couple of days (I need to order ASAP else other stuff will go out of stock) I'll need to order from somewhere else unfortunately.

    I found the board on Dabs, Aria, Microdirect and Tekheads.

    I've found Aria to be extremely slow at returns, so not them.

    What are Dabs, Microdirect or Tekheads like with returns/customer service?

    Thanks,
    Craig.

    <disclaimer class="massive">I used to work for Micro Direct a couple of years back, so this is based on how things worked then. I have ordered things from them on several occasions since leaving the company, but haven't had occasion to use their returns dept as a customer.</disclaimer>

    In general I've found the returns department at MD to be pretty helpful. Turnaround can be a bit slow at times, but items are normally tested and replaced within 24-48 hours. Customer Services are generally pretty flexible if they can't replicate a fault because it's caused by incompatibility. Hold times for the returns deartment get long at peak times, because the people answering the phones in returns are usually the same ones doing the testing. Overall, I'd say their returns department is probaly a little better than Scan (although that might be clouded judgment as Scan have been pretty poor for my recent return), and a world better than Aria (who I have used as a customer, and had to visit in person to get my return sorted out because their phone service was so terrible).

    BTW, I spoke to Scan CS about this particular board yesterday (that is the item I'm returning) and they said they are expecting new stock on the 29th

    Dabs I have found to be great, only reason I order more from scan is more component based & free delivery

    Dabs have had good customer service when I have needed them, the others I can't comment on

    Cool, hopefully it'll be there in time for me to order

    I've heard a lot of good things about Scans returns and customer service, so I'll give them a go for my PC this time round... hopefully I won't need to returns anything though

    Thanks,
    Craig.

    Looks like a solid board, scan's returns are second to none.

    After all that I went for the P35-DS4. I decided that I didn't need the DDR3 slots... especially as there are only 2 of them. The DS4 should also be the better of the boards

    I had a problem with dabs when they actually forgot I had done a return them - but when I hassled them a year later they sorted a payment out. Micro direct seem to be a mixed bag, I think they must have people trying it on a lot because they seem very picky but it usually worked out in the end
    hope that helps

    Don't know about DABS;

    MicroDirect have always been good for me, plus good on RMA;

    Tekheads have been a good supplier, but the only RMA I had to do was a Shuttle, and after 5 weeks of being without it I had to threaten Court Proceedings to get a replacement, which then arrived by return, and has run OK for the past 4+ years - so you can see how long ago that was.

    I generally buy from Scan, eBuyer (they have excellent bargains at times - never had to RMA), and KustomPC who also give excellent service, but thay are not cheap and I never had to RMA.
    Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

    Only ordered from Dabs as a business customer. Haven't ever had any hassle with returns, only thing I dislike is that you can't talk to someone on the phone. Bit strange really as they are now owned by BT...

    Microdirect took ages to replace a faulty GFX
    Dabs took 8 weeks to replace a DFI motherboard
    Tekheads took a couple of days to replace a faulty motherboard
