Thumbs down Bad experience with Pix Mania / www.pixmania.co.uk

I ordered the Samsung 226BW 22" LCD monitor and some logitech X-540 speakers from pixmania...

I placed the order on wednesday, the 8th, at lunch time. On friday morning I decided to log on to check the order status expecting to see that it had at least been despatched; It said it had been despatched on the bottom of the tracking page, but had the date of despatch empty... So yesterday afternoon (monday the 13th), about 3pm, I logged on to check it again and it was still the same! so I gave them a ring, after about 15 mins on hold, I got through to someone; they said yes, it's standard procedure with orders when you select standard delivery 2-3 days, that it's 2-3 days before they actually send it (WHAT?!?!?!) but that it's ready to be despatched this afternoon and it will be sent by parcel force 24.

So, I waited in today for it, and after 3pm, I decided to log on to check the order status again... it said it had been despatched yesterday (13/08/07), but clicking through to parcel force parcel tracking, it only said "parcel force 24" and no other information, so I decided to give them a ring to ask if it's being delivered today, (because I normally get deliverys around late morning/lunchtime), their telephone servioce is crap, and you got to mess around with a crap automated system for ages before getting through to a human! So eventually, I got through, gave them the tracking number, and they said it's due to be collected from the sender this evening!!

So hopefully I'll get it tomorrow! exactly 1 week after placing the order - and no apologys for any delays when I rang up!

When ordered it on wednesday lunch time, with 2-3 days delivery, I was hoping it would get here on friday.

    It better arrive tomorrow!!!!!

As they are based in France, you wont get the parcel force tracking number until it enters UK. I have ordered a few times from them before both times have been 2-3 days delivery from order.

I had the same experience as Andaho ordered a Camera choose 2-3 days delivery and waited a week for it to arrive with exactly the same steps in the delivery. Seems to be pixmania option to get you to pay extra for delivery for me it just means I'll never use them again.

I've ordered a couple of things from Pixmania, and they always seem to take a week to evern get it out their door. Thankfully I've never had to return anything, but it is annoying having to wait so long for them even to pick it and post it when they say it's in stock.

I only used them as they had the cheapest price and luckily I wasn't in a rush for the products.

Re: Bad experience with Pix Mania / www.pixmania.co.uk

Read my earlier thread on pixmania, will never order from these French jokers again.
I ordered a coolermaster centurion case and a coolermaster 650w PSU after about a week the case finally arrived then about 3 days later the PSU arrived but they sent the wrong model.
Let's just say that trying to get them to pick up and replace the PSU to the model I had originally ordered was a total waste of time as they wanted to get the wrong PSU sent back to France for testing (to see what the problem was), but I told them nothing was wrong with the PSU other than it was the wrong model. It took 10 days to arrive in France and another 15 days for them to "inspect" it before I was issued with the chance of getting a replacement or a refund ... guess what route I decided on??
Customer Service is a joke if anything goes wrong with your order or even worst if it develops a fault you have to go through a regimented routine of going through the motions with them, do a bit of research with the online reviews before purchasing and thinking you may be saving a few quid with Pixmania .... as in the long run it sometimes pays to spend that extra couple of quid.

Re: Bad experience with Pix Mania / www.pixmania.co.uk

I forgot to post an update until now...

A parcel arrived the following day, BUT IT WAS ONLY ONE OF THE THINGS I ORDERED!

The monitor came the following day (8 days after the order). But after all that suspense and waiting, they were packed quite well, being shrunk-wrapped in strong black plastic, and I'm happy with the price I paid; £20 (including postage) saving compared to scan's price with no postage.

I would probably use them again if their price beats everyone else's. And be prepared to wait a week for delivery.

Yes, there were lots of 'services' they automatically add to your order that you need to remove and they don't make it obvious how to remove them.

    Pixmania are an absolute nightmare.

I bought my NV3 Digi cam from there before xmas (around 15th Dec) hoping to have it in time for new year. Didnt arrive untill 4th Jan!

I rang them a number of times and all they could do was refund me PART of the delivery charge!

    Stay away!

Pixmania are owned by the Dixons Group - so what can you expect but crappy service?
