    Speakers

    Hi,

I'm looking to replace my knackered 5.1 system with a more basic 2.1 speaker setup.

I'm looking for very nice quality sound, but I don't want to spend much more than £30 really - I don't think 2.1 should be that much...

    Are there any suggestions?

    Cheers.

    Logitech X240 2.1 - just £25.84 (bargain )
    Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 - £28.79
    Altec Lansing VS2421 2.1 (nice ) - £30.54
Creative Inspire T10 2.0 - £29.13 (if these are anything like as good quality as the T20's/T40's, they'll be pretty decent speakers )

Do you know what these speakers sound like or have heard good things?

excellent ! Just what i need at the moment for uni. thanks for the recommendations. Now to hit on some reviews other than the creative ones. After having a nightmare with my audigy 2zs I'm never buying another creative product again.

I haven't heard any of those specific models, unfortunately (Creative T20's/T40's are the nearest I've listened to)... but they're all highly rated speaker manufacturer's, so I doubt you'll go wrong with any of 'em tbh

If I had to choose... I'd probably opt for the Logitech X240... but only because I've owned a number of Logitech speaker sets (I still use Z-5500's on my PC, and their Z10's on my laptop), and they've all been impressive

    Re: Speakers

Sometimes your better off with an expensive 2.0 speakers then one with a cheap subwoofer.

    Re: Speakers

I bought some digital feed, near field monitor speakers for less than £90 and they absolutely blow me away !

Like studio monitor speakers for listening at a close distance (as most computer setups are).

    Re: Speakers

I would advise you to go for the X230 rather than the X240, as they have better sound, and you're not paying for that ipod dock you probably never will use.
