    Yes, they were cheap.

I've told them to cancel. I went Ebuyer at 6pm on Friday, and it arrived this morning, less than 24 hours later.

    Result.

    Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID

    Update:

Received this in response to my detailed complaint:

    "Dear Customer,
    Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately we are unable to cancel your order as the item has been dispatched, I have forwarded your email across to the relevant department for someone to investigate to find out what has happened to your order.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
    Sincerely,
    Vicky"

Translation: We don't care, sit down and shut up.

It's a bad sign that their communications come from "donotreply@techbits"

No response to my question about what kind of courier takes a fortnight from despatch to deliver.

Having now got the parts from a decent company with good customer care, check this thread out http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-hardwa...ch-happen.html

That email response takes the mick!

I would be furious, and their tracking system defeats the purpose!

    Gosh, speedy update.

To be fair, I contacted them again through the website to say I was not happy with that reply, and have received a v quick email response confirming the request for cancellation has been forwarded to accounts, and apologising for the inconvenience.

That feels a lot better. Now I'll just see how long refunds take.

    Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID

Having the exact same issues with this company ordered a batch of 4 HDD's on the 28/01/2009, on my 3rd dispatch date now a month later and still no goods. Have been told that I will receive them on the 12th before 6:30pm, very sceptical. Same BS about the tracking number. Will ask for a refund on the 13th.

Could peeps report back if they have received a refund from the company or should we start thinking about contacting Trading Standards?

    Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID

It will be 30 days for me as of tomorrow so yesterday I told them to either get my goods to me by Saturday or I will have to get the Office of Fair Trading involved as they will have broken the distance selling regulations. They then told me my goods would arrive early next week and they were sending them as a 'good-will gesture', I replied that I had no trust in this estimate as they had already lied to me once already at which point they cut me off on live chat. I was typing mid-sentence that actually sending me the items isn't a good-will gesture it's what they should have done at the start after taking my money - a good-will gesture would have been to use a next day tracked delivery service however I never had the opportunity to hit send. This is really turning into a nightmare now.

    Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID

    Hi,

Just stumbled across this thread. I am another victim of Techbitsonline.

I suspect this company is a "Dropshipper", meaning they hold no stock and pass ordered onto the manufacturer or wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to us. This would explain the long lead times on these orders.

I am currently in dispute with the company over something I ordered. I don't want to say what is currently going on, but I just wanted to add a "+1" to the Techbitsonline: AVOID.

Save your money and your time, unless you are incredibly stubborn, like me

Good luck to all that have had the misfortune to have placed orderes with this company and I will update you once I can.

    Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID

I have also be ripped off by Techbitsonline they also trade under the name of CCK Technologies. Both have had terrible reviews for taking money and not delivering goods. I wished I had done more research before parting with my money

They give you a long delivery date, and even when that has passed will not progress your complaint until after a further deadline for delivery. They will NOT commit to a refund either saying that they will chase the matter with Royal Mail

However, all is not lost. If you purchase through credit card, your credit card company will do a charge back after 30 days following your order

This company is a total rip off and I'm NOW going through the hoops to get my money back from the credit card company

Just Google both these names and 100's of poor reviews come up.

DO NOT ORDER WITH THESE GUYS

    Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID

I've been promised a refund within 30 days. I'm keeping an eye on the calendar.

After that, being a lawyer, I can get creative in the office if I've not got the money back

Incredibly I checked the tracking service on their website and have finally been given.... a tracking number with Citylink!!! Supposed to be delivered tomorrow so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that they have sent the correct items and that it all works as I really don't ever want to deal with them ever again. Fingers crossed for everyone else here who are having the same problems with these cowboys.

Hi, i was just wondering if you received your item from techbits yet? If so, could you please help me as one electronics lover to another? Cheers.
