Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
Got through! To surly and uninformed staff! Hurrah!
No progress though. "we don't get a tracking number until it's delivered".
You WHAT? Then what's the f**king point of a tracking number? Surely the clue is in the word "tracking"? It's not a "delivery confirmation" number, is it?
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
sounds like the bull**** razer are giving me atm (we wont get into that though), if they have sent it they will get some information that allows them to track it at that time. Theyre just feeding you rubbish.

Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
Even if your item does arrive (I feel it may not!) I will still not be using these guys. They are on the list with OcUK and those phone sale spam bots.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
Whoa, you think it may not arrive AT ALL, or just today?
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
This is why I always pay by credit card, just in case :D
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
Fark.
I've used OcUK in the past and don't recall having problems. Hmmmmm.
Balls. Right, well, we have paid by credit card. What would anyone recommend?
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
It's a pretty poor service, make no mistake, but I suspect you can't do anything until after the delivery estimate date has passed. Makes you wonder what kind of postal service they are using.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
I suspect you may have to give it a bit longer before the CC company will get involved.
Legally speaking, you are covered on purchase £100 and over IIRC. Having said that Mastercard were superb with me even when it was an item well under that.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
6.03pm: no apology necessary. No surpises there, I feel.
Wife paid Direct Debit.
Have just sent complaint email asking for cancellation, that I will get parts from a decent company, and pointing out that I severely doubt the despatch date they gave of 19 feb as I doubt royal mail have a service that slow.

That is definitely the most likely scenario. When you buy from proper retailers, you can get something delivered from Leeds to Devon in two days. Unless they've loaded up the hardware on a mule, they are lying about the despatch date.
On the other hand, you are crying a bit too much when it's only the last day of the range they gave you. This rant would be more appropriate tomorrow, and actually justified in a couple of days.
Though I fully agree, that tracking system sounds rubbish.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
This is not a "rant", neither is it "crying", and is entirely appropriate today. Why tomorrow? The range was until 6pm today. That's gone.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
to be fair, it's not too bad a rant, and I for one am grateful for the headsup on them.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
Of all retailers, why Techbitsonline may I ask? Were they significantly cheaper than anybody else?
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
I'm in the same boat unfortunately, ordered motherboard and memory from them on the 11th and still waiting, they initially told me it had been dispatched on the 12th and the delivery due date was to be 18th-24th. After these dates had passed I used the live chat then sent a ticket to their CS only to find out the next day they had trouble getting hold of the MB!!!! So much for all the items dispatched on the 12th.....
Apparently my items are now coming in two seperate packages but at the moment I am still waiting for even one. I've got a big pile of stuff waiting for my build which was all delivered within 2 days of ordering from Scan so clearly I am not a happy bunny.
Re: Techbitsonline: AVOID
Just goes to show that it is best to stick with the professional companies. The ones who have good customer feedback and years of documented cases of getting the job done:
Scan, Ebuyer, Aria even Overclockers!!
