    Canon G10

I absolutely will be buying a new camera within the next two weeks, most likely a Canon G10, but want to pay the lowest price possible (Go figure!)...

No, when I was first looking at these they could be had for around £380 in Jessops, and £350 online...

Canon have recently hiked prices so any new stock shops are buying in is alot mroe expensive, for example it now costs £414 at Jessops and £460 at Play!!

I'm seeing it available for £351 on Amazon which is a much more realistic price, does anyone know of somewhere I might get it a bit cheaper?

OR, is it worth me jumping ship and going for the Nikon P6000 which hasn't hiked it's price, and can be had for £280? (Which I have just looked at while writing this)

I'd much rather have the Canon because i've always preferred Canon cameras, but if it comes to it then the P6000 is definately an option.

    Thanks for any advice

Depends what you want .... and who it is on eBay and whether you want to risk eBay at all.

How would the G10 stack up against $40,000 worth of Hasselblad H2 and Phase One digital back? The answer might be a surprise.

    See this

But be sure to read all of it, not just the 'headlines'. The caveats are worth remembering, but nonetheless, it's a thought-provoking and provocative piece.

I cannot believe that the price of this has just gone up at Amazon again. What a joke. Will see what it costs in a couple of weeks when i've got the money together.

    Re: Canon G10

I was almost about to purchase a G10 from warehouseexpress as the price had consistantly been sitting at £341 for ages. Then without any notice it sprang up in price by about £50.

Seems the Yen converstion to £ caused that change in price.
