Post Building a pc does this kit go together? and alternatives needed

here is the folowing components im thinking of purchasing,

Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H 785G Socket AM3 DVI VGA HDMI Out 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard 170230 £62.63
    AMD Athlon II X4 630 Socket AM3 2.8GHz 2MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor 176579 37 in stock £86.36
Coolermaster Elite 330 Case With Coolermaster eXtreme Power 460W PSU *SPECIAL OFFER* 135101 £51.99

ive already got 4gb ddr3 kingston value ram from play to go in with it, im unsure on what graphics card to buy, i think 80 quid is what im willing to pay, this pc will mainly be used for xbmc running dual monitors, ie 1 my samsung 40" 2 medion lcd, i would like to play the odd game, i love cod but wouldnt have to be max settings just look good.

is the athlon 630 worth paying an extra tenner for compared to the 620?
would that psu be strong enough for what i want?
what cooling would be best for the 630?

cheers im new on here but it looks good!

The Coolermaster PSU is not too bad but I would aim for something a bit better:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152505

This case also looks good for the price too:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172779

I would also go for this CPU:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159071

It has L3 cache unlike the Athlon II meaning it will be better for running any games.

I would also get this graphics card:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/155496

An HD4850 will be able to run most games at 1440X900 and 1680X1050 at decent settings.

If you want to save some money you could the less powerful 9800GT Green Edition:

that case looks good except im not into led's flashing etc, can i disable the led?,

in regards to graphics card, if i was to play games i probably would like them thru my tv, this is only 1080i 40 inch so would this mean i dont need anything too special?

how many additional case fans would u suggest? and what kind of processor cooling?

    cheers

To run COD:MW2 an HD4850 will be able to max out the game at 1920X1080(the resolution of your TV):

    http://www.techspot.com/article/219-...nce/page5.html

Actually, the resolution of your TV is actually quite high and only a 30" desktop monitor would usually have a higher resolution.

Regarding case cooling I would have at least one inlet and one outlet fan in the case. I would get 120MM fan as these tend to be quieter as smaller fans have to spin quicker for the same amount of airflow. If you are not overclocking then stick with the stock cooler as it should do the job IMHO.

The motherboard is fine. Anyway an X3 720 is powerful enough for most uses IMHO!

sorry to be a pain, what about the 4850 ie novatechs version with 1gb ram for 85.99 would this be better than the 512 at similar price? novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?nov-48501

The XFX HD4850 has a better cooler but the extra RAM of the Novatech HD4850 will help at higher resolutions.

ok then im thinking of changing to the following spec

was thinking i may as well get a real quad while im at it, i aint settled on the case/psu yet and with so many gpu's available. would your suggested psu, handle this power output considering a 925 phenom?

also is their a way of getting free postage via ebuyer as a tenner seems steep to me lol

    cheers

Why a 785G board? You don't need integrated graphics as you're going for a graphics card, something like a MSI 770-C45 will be better:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/165438 (1 left!)

Try to look for the Samsung F3 1TB drive as it's slightly faster. You could also put the saved money into a slightly faster processor. You might also want to look at a third party cooler as quad cores get slightly hot.

Re: Building a pc does this kit go together? and alternatives needed

Go for the Samsung F3 as this is much faster:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173804

I am not a massive fan of the Coolermaster 460W PSU and I would not tax it too much. It actually is more like a 430W unit:

    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/550/1

The OCZ unit I mentioned is better:

    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/794

If you are not overclocking the Phenom II X4 925 the stock cooler should be fine as it is supposed to be quite decent:

    http://techreport.com/articles.x/16744/4

    Edit!!

It is worth going for the motherboard Ulti linked too!!

Novatech also has it in stock:

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...s/770-C45.html

Also you can get cashback on Novatech purchase from Quidco and TopCashBack.

Here is a review of the motherboard:

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mot...board-review/1

The HD4850 should be able to run two displays.

i just chose the gigabyte cos of the good reviews tbh, the msi reviews say it gets slightly hot due to poor heatsink designs onboard, is their anything slightly more expensive worth considering, i see gigabyte gets good ratings for the quality capacitors they use as well.

    This Asus is worth considering:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/171664

This uses an 8+2 phase VRM design which is better for higher TDP processors.

The non-PRO version is much cheaper though:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...-G0EAY0GZ.html

However it use a weaker VRM design.

    Edit!!

I put the right link for the first motherboard now!!

Question Re: Building a pc does this kit go together? and alternatives needed

ok heres my latest renditions of my build lol

    ebuyer build

    novatech build

which is the best and is their anyway i can drop the price on a component without losing performance, my target was 400 quid but a graphics card probly gunna push me over this!
