Anyone looking for a new case, this is a VERY good deal :)

Scan's today only sometimes catches me out, Ill be thinking of buying something new and the retail therapy urge means I go to my local stockist, they usually dont have stock so I walk out empty handed, but my wallet is fine.

Except this week, Scan only went and put what I wanted on today only, and I thought id let you all know, as with the free HEXUS shipping there is a very good saving to be had on this exceptional case (yes I bought one and all the bits Im listing here, it arrives tomorrow!)

£8.21 Akasa PaxMate II Acoustic Sound Proofing Kit for Case - Midi to Full Tower
£7.04 2 x 120mm Akasa Amber Case Fan, 3 Pin, 2 Ball Bearing , Ultra Quiet and Long life
    £76.36 Akasa Eclipse-62 Midi Tower Case - Hi-End
£9.69 Akasa Maxi-View Side Panel for Eclipse-62 Case
    ------------------
    £108.34 Delivered

Ok so its a high end case and maybe out of lots of budgets but its an exceptional case and with the window, sound proofing and excellent fans for the above price its a steal

Whats more as deals go, this saved me over £45 compared to other retailers

Oh yeah and Rys reviewed this a while back, I think he liked it Read the review
    You know ya wanna

I choose that case for my brother when he bought his new system. Great case and well worth the money. Real generous room inside too.

well I only got the sound proofing for three reasons....

    1) my system at the moment does my spud in for noise, I have a Antec P160 and its just TOO noisy.
    2) it was easy enough to buy when I bought the case etc in one order
    3) it was cheapish enough and if I do it when i build up the case for the first time its easy enough to do.

In asking David his thoughts on this case, his answer was simple enough, 'akasa cases r0x0r.'

Trouble is - we know what stock is like on these, and they sell fast - really fast.

I am shocked to see a chassis on allocation.

That Akasa sound proofing kit is not that great.

Got some in my CM111 as I've caught the silencing bug.

With sound proofing material, the thicker the better. Unfortunately, the Akasa stuff is extremely thin.

I really cant see what the fuss is about the eclipse case, i think it looks very old style and dated.

I did buy a new case from scan last week though, the Gigabyte 3d aurora, and its a thing of beauty, 3 x 120mm fan mounts, silent too with the 3 fans going, a wee bit more than the eclipse but well worth it

edit: i believe the fans supplied are the same, but blue led, so it would actually work out cheaper (or roughly the same anyway).

As a sound proofing material, Paxmate is rubbish. It's only use is preventing metal on metal vibration. For that, you could use practically anything. Acoustipack is a far better (though more expensive) sound proofing material. Not much point in having soundproofing if the rest of the components aren't quiet eg. gpu fans etc

Looks just like the Chieftec Dragon with a different front panel!

it looks absoultely nothing like the chieftek dragon, the only resemblance is that both cases open at the top.
