    Its very safe.

So long as you don't give them any other personal details other then addy.

Also if you realy not too sure - give another contact addy, say parents house.
That way the bank account details will be very issolated from the address given.

Your account number and sort code are on the bottom of every cheque you write so it's definately safe to give those details...

    safe things...

    bank
    name
    sort code
    account number

a general rule is anything found on a cheque is safe....but most things on a debit card are not..

    eg. card number
    expiry date

Totaly unrealated realy but this is an interesting point:
I was recently looking to hire some building equipment for some home renovation work, one of the companies I approached wanted to photocopy the front & back of my Debit or credit card - then email AND fax them to their 'head office' as they did'nt have facilities to accept payments at the office.
They looked at me puzzled when I refused point blank to let them and gave them the reasons why.
I also tried to pay by cheque, but Transax who they were supposed to use refused to deal with them (must point out this had nothing to with me or my cheque).
Needless to say I walked out at that point.
This was also a national hire company, not some local 2nd class one !

Just goes to show there is still absolute ignorance of card security with many companies. I know Etailors are slightly different, but I still make a point to pay with my Credit card as your money is protected.

Debit cards (as a bank manager once told me) are not safe !

Yep, some swine committed fraud on my card to a value of 300 quid in the past week, only just sorted out with my bank today! (maestro card)

Credit cards are so much better at protecting you from these things - my credit card co always phones me up if theres a 'dodgy' looking transaction thats been made - usually its me on a spending spree though
Doo Doo Doo Da Da DA...
