I can highly recommend the AG Neovo F-419 - I have one and it's superb:

£176.24 inc VAT here

There also seems to be a new version with better specs:

£182.11 inc VAT here

There are several other shops which sell these, but I can personally recommend the one I've linked to.

Yes, fine for me.

I usually play the slower FPS', such as HL2, FarCry etc - I'm not sure how UT would be, but I know there are others on Hexus with this monitor.

Those are some good monitors mentioned, but.... alot of people say buying a new monitor now, and not choosing a widescreen one would be silly. Evidently.... once you try widescreen.. you never go back... etc

Currently i have a cheap, old, 17" CRT monitor so i am planning on upgrading very soon too. I have been convinced to go with the Dell 2007FPW. It is evidently very good.

I dont know where i will buy it tho.... and i havn't seen on sale in the UK yet. Alot of americans have it tho and are very happy playing games with it. Scan has the 3007FPW so im assuming we will see it soon. (they also have the 2005FPW but that is going to be replaced by the 2007FPW which is similar specs but better - and ALOT less likely to have the "backlight bleeding" problems etc..)

So v true about WS. Infact its changed my mind entirely, just waiting like you for the right one! So does the 2005fpw suffer from this BL Bleeding? I do think i will go with a dell as i have heared so many good reviews and also Dell are always doing specials so hopefully i can Buy a PC with hopefully a 20" Monitor and resell the PC and get the Monitor 1/2 price!

Heres one on ebay but way to expensive for me! Wonder if i could get one from the US (ebay) do you think it would get through customs as a Gift?...But saying that No warranty)!

Here is a review on 3 top monitors "The article said take the response times with a grain of salt. It also stated that none showed ghosting at 60fps (correct me if Im wrong please) but there was tearing"

Im gettin a bit peaved to be honest. I keep hearing how great a monitor is, then i read reviews and 50 people love it and 50 people say its rubbish

As for the 2007FPW i really dont know Backlight Bleeding was evidently a big problem with the early 2005FPW models, but people say that once all the old stock had been sold, the more recent ones didn't have that problem. And seeing as the 2007FPW is an updated version, its meant to be even more reliable. Alot of people love it, and its highly recommended by some people. But as i said, its annoying because if you read enough reviews, you eventually find people who think its far from perfect. Maybe perfect is too much to ask? But when spending that type of money i really want something close to perfect

Ive read reviews of about 5 of the top LCD/TFT monitors, and altho half of buyers love them, the other half have mentioned issues like, "annoying hum/buzzing coming from the monitor", "a grainyness because the pixels are noticably.. noticable - Dell2007FPW", and some people talk about Ghosting/Blurring and also i saw one thread where alot of people where complaining about a delay.... So when you move your mouse, it takes a second to move on the screen.. Which is not only annoying, but in a game like Counterstrike/Unreal/etc, it actually gets you killed alot because of the delay.

So im totally undecided Im still thinking i might buy a CRT... I found this link with a list of CRT's and estimated prices:
http://www.pcindex.co.uk/results_Pro...r=price&rec=31

Seems like a good link to find what you want, and then you can go and research it in google. But i still cant choose I know with CRT im going to get a really good picture, and no ghosting or delay at all. But the downside is no widescreen. (I only ever found one widescreen CRT and it was discontinued).

So i think i'll be researching for alot longer.

So im totally undecided
I know exactly how you are feeling I am looking for the same monitor as you (2005/7fpw) but my situation is my old Mitsi 930sb keeps crashing with a single Hrz line ( V Hold kaput) so i am in desperate need of one quick as its probaly a day or two left before its gone all together. Yesterday i thought Sod it i'm just gonna buy one (2005fpw) from ebay (cheapest £272 3yr warranty) as it is causing me Grief I cannot buy another CRT due to my new Bespoke pc desk being too small and i cannot buy another as its built into the wall So i am in a predicament! Is the 2005 really that bad? I do play games (FPS) now & Then so a little Ghosting cannot hurt but as you said pointer delay is a NO NO

ps i did see a 2nd hand sony WS on ebay (19" i think)

This dont look too bad (resell when a better comes along)

I can tell you that ITCSales are legit and above board.
I bought my Dell 2005FPW (which i am delighted with by the way) from them in Nov 2005, and other than a minor annoyance at faxing bills in order to get deilvery to a work address they were great.
A full 3 year dell warranty too.
