    Cheapest Monitor Above 1280 x 1024

For years now i have regretted upgrading to tft as soon as i could to my lowly 15", 1024x768, built-in speakers and support for multiple in puts through vga and manufacturer REMOVED! DVI ports.
I'm wondering what is the cheapest thin monitor that can go above 1280 x 1024, size and anything else is not an issue.

Pricerunner. Can't stand Kelkoo - it promotes itself all over the web and is always coming up on Google searches even when it has nothing of relevance. i.e. look for a review, up will come a link to a Kelkoo page saying "we don't have a review - why not be the first to write one" etc.

That monitor only has 900 pixels vertically. You should find a good range of 17" TFTs for about £150-200?

Thanks ill keep pricerunner in mind.

I asked for things ABOVE 1280x1024 i dont really care for the 124 pixel height difference if i can get such a great horizontal increase, i dont rele want the height because my main use is gaming and a widescreen shows more than a tall screen (its not that important to see as much sky as possible). Also i especially would prefer a 19" over a 17" for less price AND more width! So thanks for your effort but unfortunately not quite what i was looking for and i have decided when the oppurtunity arrises i shall buy the 19" VideoSeven (my current monitor is videoseven) with 1440x900

My school has a load of Relisys monitors, though not that model they are quite clear but very grainy and the backlights are very weak. Perfeectly functional but not very nice to look at.

128X1204 has more screen area than 1440x900

Also bare in mind a 19" wide is around the same height as a 15" Square, at tad higer but definately a fair bit shorter than a 17"

As far as i have seen all normal 4:3 aspect ratio 19" monitors have a max resolution of 1280*1024. Max resolution for 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio 19" is 1440*900. The next step in resolution is for 20", 4:3 aspect ratio monitors have a resolution of up to 1600*1200, for 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio its 1680*1050. In general the more you pay for a monitor the better quality it will be i.e. faster response time, more inputs, better contrast ratio etc.

With that in mind i've been tempted by this -> http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=430057 from scan or perhaps a 4:3 aspect ratio 20" monitor but i haven't seen one at a reasonable price. It annoys me that for an extra inch diagonally it costs around £100 more

    Hope this helps

    Andy
