    Apparently these new nvidia cards are going to be hardlaunched on the 14th. Will Scan actually have any in stock then? How about prices?

    Scan will have them on the 14th according to their site and they're the cheapest I've found at £170.

    between a 7900gt and 7900gtx

    The 7950GT is basically a downclocked GTX, with a single slot cooler. Should overclock well.
