I think I'll do the same, don't play it enough to warrant downloading them.

Great news! These maps have been ready for a while but microsoft has been holding them back.

It sucks that you have to pay for them initially though (which I will end up doing as GOW is my favorite game). I don't mind paying for extra content to get more mileage out of a game. But less people will have the maps and end up getting kicked on map rotations and you'll just get the players who take the game way too seriously playing on them rather than the casual gamers who will wait for September.

I'll give these a download tomorrow when they're up though and post my impressions.

800 points for 4 maps, not too bad so long as they're good, but I'll be waiting till september, I don't play enough online gears to bother with it.

If I remember right, they did this with Halo 2 as well, although that time around I did actually buy them since I played Halo 2 online quite a lot.

Has anyone played them yet? My points card was posted from Amazon yesterday but didn't arrive so I can't buy the maps!

Yeah I've been playing them quite a bit today, they take a bit of getting use to but they're pretty good! The best one is 'garden', which is really colourful and works really well with the annex game (you can strategically gas the opposition through switches over the annex points). The second best is 'process' which is a massive nuclear station, and the others are pretty good too. They're much better than the extra maps which were released a few months ago, but it's probably worth waiting for September if you don't play GOW online much.
