It also has a new stamp licking facility. You just put your stamps into the drive and they come out all moist and ready to place on your envelope.

Does it really allow the "XMB (XrossMediaBar) is now accessible during gameplay" feature? No one else has this listed as a feature (except on the rumoured 2.0 firmware release lists). Haven't tried it on my PS3 yet as i'm at work but i would have thought that a "most wanted" feature such as that would be plastered all over the internet right now if it were true...

I've made a big boo boo on this one. That was the rumored list, not the official one. It's now been amended. Sorry guys, a bit under the weather today.

This update is going to be great and really push the PS3 forward, will have to try it when i get home from work.

old DVD and PS1/PS2 games in "Full" 1080p - oh yeah baby

    Upscaling

System Software 1.80 adds the capability to upscale your existing DVD collection to HD quality - a feature normally only associated with top of the range DVD players. Via upscaling, DVDs are enhanced to full 1080p HD (when viewed on an appropriate HD ready TV).

The upscaling feature isn't restricted to DVDs - PS3 compatible PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games are also upscaled, making your existing game collection look better than ever.

    Remote Play via Internet

Upgrade your PS3 system software to version 1.80, and the Remote Play feature is updated to support Internet streaming. This allows you to access content stored on your PS3 system's Hard Disk Drive using your PSP, wherever you have Wireless access to the Internet - so your photos, music and video can all be enjoyed on PSP no matter where you are (requires PSP system software version 3.50 and above).

Increased support for PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games

System software 1.80 also adds compatibility with a number of additional PlayStation and PlayStation 2 software titles. Please see the official backwards compatibility site for details of which games are playable on PS3.

Sure if your product played BLu-ray and next gen PS3 games it would be flying off the shelves at that price

The point I trying to make was that Sony have said that the feature is only usually there on "high-end" players... when its blatantly not. I mean look in the Bargain section today, theres one in there for £29.97.
