Amazing acheivement, most folks will not realise just how tough something like that is in the kind of heat you were subjected to at this time of year.

    Congrats.

43 degrees? My god, that'd kill me even if I wasn't going anywhere. Congratulations.

Re: The road to Mount Mulhacén: one man's journey to fulfil a promise

    Congrats indeed.
I'm pretty sure I went up there when i was a wee boy, certainly walked for miles around that area. certainly very unforgiving terrain especially in the summer. Last time I was up there i cycled a bit which was really good too. I'd definitely recommend it. we went with an outfit based in mecina fondales (where my family has a house) which is a few villages along from bubion but there are also groups in bubion.
    it's a fantastic area though

Re: The road to Mount Mulhacén: one man's journey to fulfil a promise

    Congrats!

I've just done the fairly breezy Scafell Pike in the Lake District with a bunch of mates, best fun i've had in a long time! Sounds like a pretty good hike, i'll have to look into it if i'm ever in Spain. And just think you've done a third of Everest - at that pace you could do it in 10 hours (if only!)
