looks good, but yet again I have an inkling that the controls may let it down a little.

Sorry but game Pads are not the best thing for a FPS on a console when you've been pwning n00bs with PC FPS games ever since CS 1.0 beta and UT were released aeons ago.

I have already got hl2 for pc and I'm torn between getting the Orange box on pc or 360. I like the idea of playing it on a TV but i don't think it'll play quite as well as with a keyboard and mouse.

PC, don't bother with it on the 360. The roots of half life are firmly on the PC. I feel that a lot of the experience of HL could be lost on a console. I think the same could be said for Gears of War coming to the PC. The style of play for that game is geared up for a pad not a mouse & keyboard imo.

it is me or do the graphics look more blurry?

i suspect it is the overuse of HDR, god i hate that unnatural glow

Yeah HDR only looks nice on sky scapes but even then, there seems to be a tendency to over use it. On objects its looks god awful, unnatural (particularly on things that don't shine - i.e clothes) and does nothing but suck fast amount of resources..... so I turn it off.
