Fabio Capello is the new England manager

We had hoped the "Special One" would take the role as England manager following Steve McClaren's prompt dismissal less than a month ago. Mr Mourinho however decided not to take the roll and Fabio Capello has now been confirmed as the England manager.

Hmm bold move, this could turn out to be a master stroke or end in tears His positives are that he motivates the players highly + he can read the game (tactically) very well. Also he is not scared to make changes and also revert those changes.

I'm sure it will ultimately end in tears but hey, he can't do no worse than McClaren right?

With his history with Beckham at Real Madrid, I wonder if he'll get the chance to claim his 100th cap.

I do think Capello is a good choice though, he should be bold enough to leave out players who just aren't fitting into his system.

I hope he knows what he's letting himself in for..get a 4 year contract, fail after 2 years...wait to be sacked and pocket a few million in the process for failing.

    Good luck though..hehe..

I don't know enough about this guy to pass a decent opinion. a passionate English man would still be my first choice.

I forsee tears. Players will complain he's unsympathetic and horrible to work with, end up de-motivated/refusing to play/'injured'.

Name me a decent English manager thats currently got the experience required to lead a national team. There isn't one. I have no problems with a foreign manager, as long as they know what they are doing. Capello has won trophies in Italy & Spain and at the top level, unlike all the english managers.

I do think that he's a good choice to lead us to South Africa.

    Barry Fry.

Vinny Jones? He's got movie experience as well, good for talking to the cameras.
