They removed R9700 a couple of driver revisions back so these don't hold any interest for me until the day after tomorrow when I get my HD3850
thanks !
minor improvements all round from what i have had a mess with. dont see any huge changes but then again i wasnt experiencing anything that needed one. 8.01's are apparently going to give a shot in the arm but thats speculation till they hit obviously.
weirdly enough google and this forum went a bit odd (every "normal" person on heres name was in brown rather than blue - and all googles links were red) but that was only yesterday (and only after a few reboots) today its all back to normal. doubly weird.

Read more.Nothing quite like the smell of fresh new drivers just before Christmas is there? If you haven't done so already, you can now upgrade your Catalyst drivers to version 7.12 and take advantage of the "highest level of power, performance, and reliability", say the release notes.
As already stated not much difference, and unless the patch fixes a specific problem that you are experiencing Christmas is prob not the best time to run the update, if something goes wrong (and something always goes wrong for someones machine) the kids screaming will be worse than ever.
Not much performance gain (or loss which is the case for some of the drivers ATI release...) with these drivers. Pretty much same performance in hl2 engine, crysis and bioshock.
They did however get rid of the annoying stutter in cs when you alt tab out + in (which happens for about 3/4 seconds), which I could only put down to the core clock and mem adjusting their speeds.
No other problems to report though.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
