Plus! making a comeback for Windows Vista

Remember those rather average Plus! packs available for Windows 95, 98 and XP? Well, it looks as though Windows Vista will be getting the Plus! treatment too.

Re: Plus! making a comeback for Windows Vista

Personally feel that getting Ultimate 64bit has been a bit of a rip off to an extent. Got it in the first place because of getting the free extras. What have we had so far ? Texas Holem Poker and a few dreamscene wallpapers. Hardly worthwhile calling them ultimate extras!

Thumbs down Re: Plus! making a comeback for Windows Vista

I too brought Vista x64 (ultimate) back in May.. It was only installed for a fortnight and i went back to XP due to the constant nagging UAC and all the problems with punkbuster in Americas Army and Battlefield etc.

I reinstalled on monday and figured out how to switch off the UAC, so it seems ok, but i have been too busy to try my games..(fingers crossed should be ok now)..

Ultimate Extra's are a joke, so is aero. Even the new extra's such as the dreamscape is rubbish. It makes it look pretty but it takes the idle usage from 1% to 3-4%..

Plus should be free to ultimate owners!! if they did this as a free download for Ultimate users then atleast we wouldn't all feel ripped off yet again..

Re: Plus! making a comeback for Windows Vista

I'm happy with home premium at er.. home I've a choice of all of them (since the licences cost me nowt - job related) but I didn't see the point in ultimate for a media centre for example (premium does the job).

@troopa - nowt wrong with aero but like almost everything in vista, you can configure it not to run. I turned it off for my media centre (don't use the desktop) but love it at work (where it makes certain apps a darn sight more snappy).

Re: Plus! making a comeback for Windows Vista

Top right game look like a time-limited demo I have installed from the MS website (Cubewords I think it was called, will have to check once I've re-set up my PC) where basicly a cube with a 4 letters on it rises up the game board and you have to make so many words in a given time frame.

In other words - not very good.
