Sounds like a destructive testing oppotunity....
I am SERIOUSLY hoping that they have 'tried this at home' before making such a claim in front of Nick and the HEXUS.tv cameras

1550 Fahrenheit ... about 840C. She actually says "for half an hour up to 1550 degrees". I'm not sure what happens after that!

it's all good to say it can do it, but what they should have done is tested it infront of everyone @ ces
Hmmmm, bit small for business use I would say, also its got a USB connector on it, now in my experience those connectors tend to have plastic inners on them so that 1550 degree's be it F or C are gonna melt that plastic, also, what happens if theres a cable in it, that cables gonna melt and clog up the connector I'd wager..
What is needs is some sort of temp trigger that pops the cable out and covers the USB connector to protect it from heat..
Ok so you can send it to them for them to move the data to a new unit and send it back to you, nice, especially as its a free service but how long does it take, if your data's that important that you have to put it on this kind of drive your going to want access to that data PDQ and not a week later by the time its been sent to them, transfered and returned...
The company claimed to protect the drive. Not have it running as you drop it into the bath/furnace.
In my experiance if you have a backup device and its not plugged in its usually in the fireproof safe..
