I thought it was a single player per console game...... Can you have multiple people play at once? Dang might have to get it now.

It is single player per console.
You can go online with friends/randoms seamlessly and the host starts various challenges like jump over a bridge and crash into each other, or drift for a combined total of xx yards. Can also setup races of course, or just drive around the city beating each others high scores (biggest jump... fastest time on a road...)
    All good fun

Yep ninja's right just one player per console, i should have put it was online but it is so seamless, there are 350 challenges in all, I'm done with COD4 got it for the pc (prefer fps on pc than ps) rinsed the single player and played a bit of online but after playing bf2 and bf2142 for over 400hrs each, cod4 dosent really live up to them.
