Re: Review :: Burnout Paradise - Xbox 360

For me Burnout is the best game I've purchased for the 360. I've played alot of great games but Burnout is the only game where I've clocked 40 hours of game play in about 40 hours (not literally but you get the point ).

Online play has really drawn me in. Usually I'm a very quiet live player, other then a rising kill count and a few knifes to the backs I seldom get noticed. But Burnout has changed that for me, every server I go on I feel drawn to pee off as many people as possible. Yesterday I managed to get every player on the server to chase me constantly around the map for revenage due to my merciless actions of Taking down every player. Over the (really) loud, constant swearing you could hear me psycotically giggling away...

    ... I'll be online again tonight ^_^

This is what MS want. You to be online playing using Live and loving every minute of it.

I used to do the same with texas hold'em but I waited till 4 am before I went on after getting in from clubbing and some of the discussions we had were absolutely hilarious. If the drunken scottish crew read this, I salute you ( they'll know what I mean by that )

I played the demo and for me they've totally ruined the Burnout franchise....Paradise feels like NFS: Most Wanted with nicer graphics. I don't know what Criterion were thinking by making their game look and feel like a NFS game, Burnout games before this one were unique had some great features (aftertouch for example) and now that they have gone, Burnout Paradise is just another of those NFS clones that get annoyingly repetitive...

PGR4 is still the king of Xbox360 racers for me...

I quite like the new direction the series has taken, however I'm not to keen on the driving back to the race that was just started. It is a bit odd that they took out aftertouch, wasnt aware anyone didnt like it... It does get repetitive like any other driving game if you play it to much, happened to me with pgr4!

i think the thign that bothered me most about the burnout games in the past is that the cars all felt generic and just seemed to go a bit faster when you got a new one. Is it the case this time round or have they changed it a bit? Still love the series but pennies are tight at the moment so i have to schedule getting new games in

Yeah, I know what you mean. It still has that problem to a certain extent, but the cars do look, sound and handle slightly differently from each other.

The main thing is there are now 3 different classes of cars, which adds to the difference factor.

Stunt cars are good for stunts, and have standard boost, that you can use whenever you want. Usually the best cars.

Speed cars have a boost that can only be used when full, but have things called burnouts, where the boost refills when its empty if you booost all the time. Fastest in a straight line but not very practical.

Aggression cars are takedown machines, tough, but not as fast.

So all in all there is enough difference between them to keep things fresh.

Re: Review :: Burnout Paradise - Xbox 360

Just read there is a 1.2 patch coming out soon, and one of the problems it fixes is to stop you winning 'Marked Man' events by driving backwards the whole way! genius, i tried it last night and it actually works, although i'm not having any trouble with the marked man events because for them i use the Hunter Takedown dirt.

Re: Review :: Burnout Paradise - Xbox 360

I am going to get this on the PS3. Played the demo on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and it just felt better for me on the PS3. The PS3 controller was more comfortable for this game as well.

Just need to find the time to go out and buy it.

Re: Review :: Burnout Paradise - Xbox 360

lol same here, i was using the Citizen cop car and just ploughing them down as they came along side but i might just have to throw a few reverses in to check it out
25 races from elite licence still having a bit of trouble with stunt runs as for most i usually end up just constantly boosting looking for a jump lol gonna do them last.
