Is this good or bad for Tiscali users like myself?

CPW/TalkTalk any good? We have never had any problems with Tiscali in my house.

I have heard that Talk Talk customer service is awful.

I'm a pipex homecall (tiscali) user as well, and I have had one problem (adsl line was not syncing), but it was resolved within about 2 days which is not bad . Also the customer service even though based in India was half decent.

If CarphoneWarehouse/TalkTalk are acquiring Tiscali, its more likely that the ISP stuff will be handled by the Tiscali team than the CPW team.

Personally I would think that would be a drop is quality of service - since I consider Tiscali to be the worst evil around. No idea about TalkTalk - didnt have to contact them for anything for the one year we had broadband through them.

Well i'm with talk talk, all i can say is that the customer service is a bit random, can be amazing, can be shocking. Some of the stuff they do say is quite scripted. Overall all the problems i've had with them have been fixed, the speeds that i'm supposed to be getting (about 4meg) is usually quite constant.

Re: Headlines - Carphone Warehouse involved in Tiscali acquisition process

    Hi M8s
I 'am with Tiscali and service 2nd to none, i pay for 8mb speed and get very near that, usually between 6900kbps and 7250kbps. If this deal goes through i will be looking for another isp cos i have had dealings with Carphone Warehouse and Talk Talk and their service is rubbish, A friend of mine was with Talk Talk and out of the 12 months he was with them he was only on line for the first month and spent the next 11 months complaining and was accused of contacting other "isp's" for a better deal.
Would any deal be better than that?

Argh! Not again. 1/2 years ago I was on Nildram having perfect service (I'm still paying Nildram) but they got bought out by Pipex (downgrade #1) who got bought out by Tiscali (downgrade #2) and now they're going to be bought out by somebody even worse. Looks like I'll be switching.

Re: Headlines - Carphone Warehouse involved in Tiscali acquisition process

    Damn
started off with freedom 2 surf they sold out to pipex they sold out to tiscali now they're gonna sell out to carphone warehouse.
in my experience service levels have dropped with each takeover. god only knows how bad it will get if cw takeover.
probably time to get a mac code, but who has a better service, they all promise so much, but how many really deliver.
