    And a mind-numbing 3,840x2,160 resolution. Yours for £30K.

Re: Headlines - Sapphire to launch super-high-resolution monitor: 56 inches of fun

Is this a sneaky way of saying what the ATI 4870 max supported resolution might be. 3840x2160 compared to the paltry 2500x1600 offered by nVidia's latest card....

sapphire do make both and i assume they've been playing with the ati graphics for a while so they know what the card can do... so this resolution is entirely possible for ati's new range..

    just a thought i had...

Is there a version available without the fireGL card?

I'm guessing the reason it comes with a FireGL card is that you're gonna need a workstation class card to output at that kind of resolution, we should find out in the not too distantant future what the 4870 can do anyway.

Any change of one as a competition prize?

Re: Headlines - Sapphire to launch super-high-resolution monitor: 56 inches of fun

Part of the bizarre reasoning is that Sapphire cannot sell a branded FireGL card on its own in Europe. We suppose a £30K bundle 'addition' is a little extravagant.

Think I'll get a couple... maybe a spare one for the toilet too...*

Wow. I second the competition idea as it's the only way I'll ever own one.

I guess Tri-SLI has a use now then?
