I for one will be the first to say....

Congratulations to the Community, managing to kill a game with constant moaning, what makes it worse is that most of the people complaining aren't subscribers and feel it unfair people who pay get more

Never did play this title, sounds like it went down like a lead balloon though.

i have hellgate, even thought i hate the idea of subscribers(since you pay for it instore and their is no mention of an optional payment on case) it is a good game, can get boring due to the lack of different enviroments like alot of the tunnels are the same which is a real shame, the graphics are great for a rpg though and its a great game to play with a group i.e your mates online. Shame its come down to this, it wasnt bad but it could of been better, laggy at somepoints and a different range of areas.

Re: Headlines - Hellgate London is 'depressing' says designer

I didn't think it was an overly bad game. Like mentioned the tunnels let it down with a lot of them looking the same. City areas and boss fights were pretty good though, not enough to keep it afloat as boredom did set in when doing the mindless fetch quests in the vast tunnel systems.

It was a shame really, I followed it through development and was raring to go with it and hoping for a lot more. Just fell a bit short overall, subscription was also a bit of a kick in the teeth

the quests were probably the best part as they were not always the same, it did get boring doing them so often though and leveling was slow (did only play occasionaly though).
maybe a hellgate london 2 or something

I would agree with the other posters above - I bought it and it wasn't *that* bad, but it certainly wasn't good either! It was pretty buggy and again as someone mentioned the subscription was not particularly well handled or communicated. Either way, is it wrong to call a spade a spade? The game, though not bad, just wasn't good enough.

    Read this article at Kotaku

Interview: Flagship Studios On Life After Hellgate Launch

Not quite as bad as it sounds by the look of it, just someone ranting after a bad day.
